TAKE THAT
Take That is known to the teens of the 90s as one of the original boy bands, and it was after them that the phenomenon of boy bands followed. Formed in 1990, the beginning was not a successful one. The highest entry out of the first three singles they released was number 87 in the charts. However, their luck changed after they released the hit single 'It Only Takes A Minute', which went to number one. Since then, the band began to climb he ladder of fame and success with their albums and their singles, and became a pop success in history as top boy band.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS:The joker of the band, Robbie is now a very successful solo artist! Went off the rails a bit after the split, but then picked himself up! Has decided to take time out and last we heard he was looking for accommodation in the USA!
GARY BARLOW: The award winning songwriter for the band. Gary's married to Dawn and has a young son, Daniel. They are expecting their second child in June 2002.
MARK OWEN: The cute and cuddly one! Mark has been busy since the split, he's still cute and cuddly though and is set for bigger things.
HOWARD DONALD: The shy one of the band, a great dancer and even did a bit of song writing too. Howard is now a very successful Club DJ touring the UK and Europe.

FIVE
This UK pop quintet enjoyed widespread success in the late 90s with their polished, hip-hop inspired sound. Ritchie Neville (b. Richard Dobson, 23 August 1979, Birmingham, West Midlands, England), Scott Robinson (b. 22 November 1979, Basildon, Essex, England), Richard Abidin Breen (b. 29 June 1979, Enfield, Middlesex, England), Jason "J" Brown (b. 13 June 1976, Aldershot, England) and Sean Conlon (b. 20 May 1981, Leeds, England) were hand-picked from 3,000 hopefuls at an audition set up by the creators of the Spice Girls.

LINKIN PARK:
"The biggest misconception about us is that we're just a rock band," describes Linkin Park's guitarist Brad Delson. ORIGINS:>>>
The band saw its beginnings in emcee/vocalist Mike Shinoda's small bedroom studio, where he and Delson recorded the band's first material in 1996. The two had attended high school together, where they met the band's drummer, Rob Bourdon. Shinoda hooked up with DJ Joseph Hahn while studying illustration at Art Center College in Pasadena. Meanwhile, attending UCLA, Delson shared an apartment with bassist Phoenix, who left the band after college and returned a year later. The final piece of the puzzle was singer Chester Bennington, a transplanted Arizona native who started making records when he was 16. "When I was two, I used to run around singing Foreigner songs--there's tapes of me doing that...Since I learned how to talk I've been telling everybody I was gonna grow up to be a singer." laughs Bennington.

It wasn't the likeliest of pop history moments. If you had been there, you might have chuckled at the crotch-grabbing freestyle dancing and you might also have fancied them rotten. That's ok - you would have been right on both counts, but you would have been missing the main point, because the moment that Boyzone first danced their way on to the late, late show with Gay Byrne, pop history took a turn down a different leg of the trousers of time. Millions of records have been sold since, millions of fans have besieged gigs, millions of words have been written about them and millions of young fans will never be the same again.

The birth of Boyzone at the end of 1993 saw the Irish music mould well and truly broken. Following the huge success of U2 and the Cranberries, critics gave the five boys from Dublin little hope of ever leaving the Emerald Isle - let alone make it across the water. However, when their debut single 'Love Me For a Reason' crashed into the charts at no.2 in '94 it ensured that Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham became the most promising and exciting Irish export since well... Guinness. They won the Smash Hits award for best new act shortly afterwards but a betting man still would have given you even odds on them going the distance. It's a jungle out there, after all.
